Parachute formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2005 with Will Anderson on vocals and guitar, Alex Hargrave on guitar, Nate McFarland on bass, and Johnny Stubblefield on drums. Their debut EP "Losing Sleep" got some attention, and their 2009 self-titled album included the song "She Is Love," which reached the top 10 on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary chart. They put out five studio albums over the next decade. "The Way It Was" came out in 2011, followed by "Overnight" in 2014 and "Wide Awake" in 2016. Their 2020 album was also called "Parachute." Other songs in their catalog include "The Only One," "Hurricane," and "The Mess I Made." In 2012, drummer Johnny Stubblefield died in a car accident. The band continued with Sean Hurley joining on drums. A few years later, Will Anderson faced sexual misconduct allegations from a former crew member, but an investigation cleared him.
