100 Nosamba formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1997. Their debut album came out in 1999, and their song "Amor Na Razão" became a popular hit. In 2001, the band faced plagiarism allegations over that same track, which sparked some public discussion about artistic inspiration.
They released several albums including "Alegria" in 2001, "Samba do Ar" in 2003, "O Samba É Nosso" in 2005, and "Rumo ao Sol" in 2008. Other songs like "Na Areia do Mar" and "Paixão Platônica" appear in their catalog.
The existing history mentions original members Jairzinho on vocals, Marcelinho on percussion, Marquinho on guitar, Dinho on cavaquinho, and Pretinho on bass. Their sound incorporated elements of funk, soul, and pop while staying grounded in samba rhythms.
