I Dik Dik formed in Milan in 1965. Their early single "Se io fossi un falegname" got attention, but it was "Senza luce" that became their signature song. The band was led by vocalist Pietro Lanzi, with Giancarlo Sbriziolo on guitar, Mario Totaro on bass, and Sergio Panno on drums.
They kept recording through the early 1970s with albums like "Il primo giorno di primavera" and "Io ho in mente te." Their music from that period sometimes touched on social themes that drew criticism alongside their popularity.
