J4

J4 formed in 2015 as a Brazilian quartet with Lucas Silveira, Pedro Silas, Thiago Martins, and Duda Rodrigues. They found early attention with songs like 'Dama e o Vagabundo,' which blended pop with sertanejo and reggae sounds. Their fanbase grew quickly, calling themselves the 'J4 Nation.'

In 2017, Lucas Silveira spoke publicly about dealing with depression and anxiety, which brought some discussion about mental health into their story. Around the same time, their lyrics drew criticism from some who felt they promoted misogyny or violence against women. The band defended their work as artistic expression.

They released albums including 'J4' in 2015, 'Um Novo Tempo' in 2017, 'Para Você, Sempre' in 2019, and '4 Estações' in 2021. 'Dama e o Vagabundo' and 'Dez Negrinhos' were among their notable tracks. Silveira handled lead vocals and songwriting, while Silas played guitar and Martins added keyboards and backing vocals.
