LENOM formed in São Paulo in 2003, led by vocalist José Fernando Soares. Their debut single "Cabelo Rasta (J.F.S.)" became a reggae anthem in Brazil, establishing their sound with soulful vocals and rhythmic grooves. The band's lineup includes guitarist Cris Ras, bassist Junior Brazza, keyboardist Tico Sanchez, and drummer Glauco.
They released albums like "Alma Negra" in 2005, "Imunidade" in 2009, and "Sobrevivente" in 2013. Songs like "Esse Não Sou Eu" and "João" continued their exploration of reggae blended with Brazilian influences, often touching on themes of social consciousness and personal reflection.
LENOM faced a lengthy copyright dispute over "Cabelo Rasta" that lasted around a decade, which they eventually won. The legal challenges didn't stop their output, with tracks like "Let The Lights Go Out" and "Mais Ninguém" appearing in their catalog.
