Os Renascentistas formed in Brazil in the early 1960s around three siblings: Cláudio Venturini on vocals and guitar, Renato Venturini on vocals and bass, and Fátima Guedes on vocals and accordion. Their sound drew from folk, pop, and bossa nova, with some influence from The Mamas & the Papas and Bob Dylan. They released nine albums, and their 1968 song "Lá Vai My Love" became their most recognizable track.
The lineup changed after Fátima Guedes left in 1975, with Nani Vasconcelos joining, followed later by Peter Thomas and Tavinho Moura. They kept recording through these shifts, with songs like "Quase Morto" also in their catalog.
Os Renascentistas disbanded in 1985. Their music, particularly "Lá Vai My Love," has been covered by other artists and remains part of Brazilian playlists.
