S.C.E.S.V. Folguedo Caipira is a Brazilian ensemble focused on caipira music, the folk traditions of rural Brazil. Their name references this heritage directly. They work with traditional instruments like guitar, accordion, bass, and percussion to play sambas and forró.
They released a 2021 album that includes "Samba Enredo 2021 - Eros, Em Seu Corpo a Nossa Alma." Another track, "Samba Enredo 2022 - O Som da Libertação," appeared the following year. These samba enredos are parade songs typically associated with Brazilian carnival.
The group has faced some criticism for prioritizing authenticity in caipira music, though they view tradition as something that can evolve. Their recordings aim to document and share these regional sounds rather than innovate extensively.
