Ultra Vomit formed in 1999 in Nantes, France, as a quartet. Their music mixes heavy metal, punk, and death metal, with lyrics that lean into scatology and social taboos delivered with a tongue-in-cheek style. They've cited Metallica, Slayer, and Twisted Sister as influences.
Their songs like "Autopsy," "Asphyxia," and "Dead In Your Vomit" show their approach. The band has released albums including Manier Crasse in 2004, Panzer Surprise! in 2008, Fin du Monde in 2010, and Attentat Rock'n'Roll in 2019.
The current lineup features Fetus on vocals and guitar, Manard on guitar and vocals, Kayo on bass, and Weewee on drums. Their live shows and underground releases built a following despite lineup changes and financial struggles early on.
